Carbon Prairie Path

Let’s work together to turn the land strips on the side and middle of roads back into indigenous prairie that Mni Sota Makoce used to be covered in to help sequester carbon.

Image generated by A.I. We hope to have real photos soon.

Just imagine—our project could transform the 135,000 miles of MN roadside into lush prairie land.

This could potentially sequester 981,450 tons of carbon dioxide each year. That's roughly the same as taking over 213,000 cars off the road annually!

The plan

Hi my name is Hudson, I am in fifth grade and I am doing this because I hate taking out the recycling, so I decided to do this to help the environment for all of our futures of not taking out the recycling. I was driving with my dad to go skiing and I realized that every where I looked was grass, farms and smoke coming out of power plants, and then I remembered seeing the lush native prairie land in pictures at school, so I looked up the math and realized it would make a big difference to the environment.

My next steps are to talk to:

  • Scientists at the University of MN

  • MNDoT about what road to start on

  • Find out what tools and seeds are necessary

  • Test growth and sequestration

  • Use DAO to get other people on other roads

PLEASE HELP

Please help make the Planet Greener, and the road's more Beautiful
